Ancient Solar Observatory in Peru

Recently, archaeologists from Yale University have found what they believe is the oldest observatory in the Americas. The ancient ruins located in Chankillo, Peru, where the sun is believed to have adjustments for the entire year. During the 16th century, historical records show that sun worship and the observation was regulated by the Spanish government which had taken over these people. Interestingly, however, is the site back to 350 BC or thereabouts. The site consists of thirteen different columns, all arranged in a single file line at the top of a hill. The observation point is at the bottom of a hill, where the viewer can watch the sunrise and the pillars of correlation with each other. At the pillar to the left of the viewer is in the June solstice, while the pillar on the right at denotes December solstice. The pillar in the middle represents every equinox. According to one of the archaeologists who worked to find, research in America, and especially Peru, constantly pushing back the origins of civilization in America. He states, “In this case, it is 2300 years old Solar Observatory at Chankillo the earliest such structure identified and unlike all other sites contain adjustments that cover the entire solar year. It predates the European conquest of 1800 years and even precedes by about 500 years, the monuments of similar purpose built by the Mayans in Central America. “The thirteen towers and observation point are all housed in a heavily fortified structure with thick walls. Throughout the past it has been a mystery whether this structure, which covers several square miles, was a fort or a ceremonial center as a temple. Of course, the latest results suggest that this was more than likely a solar observatory. It has been known for decades that the ancient Maya and Inca civilizations driven “sun timing” or rather to observe the sun’s position in the sky to determine the critical times of the year. Within a few hours start to study the place, archaeologists had data that showed that the outermost columns lined up with the two solstices. But it took years of field work to pinpoint the real intentionality of such placement. Clive Ruggles, a leading British authority on archeoastronomy who also worked on the site, said that “Chankillo gave a complete set of horizon markers - the thirteen Towers -. And two unique and indisputable observation points, the fact that, apart from these two points, the towers just span the sun rising and setting arcs provides the clearest possible indication that they were built specifically to facilitate sunrise and sunset observations throughout the seasonal year. “He later goes to say,” Chankillo reflects well-developed astronomical principles, which suggests the original forms of astronomy must be quite older. “Source: Mark Abel,” Peruvian citadel is site of earliest ancient Solar Observatory in Americas . Wine Culture of Chile 101

Be offered a glass of wine in a household of Chile is a gift. It is the silent promise that welcome you into their house and not leaving until your belly was filled with some of the freshest food you will find this side of the equator. Denying that the wine would be an insult to your host Chile (as well, and do not finish every bite of your meal). Chilean wine culture has grown steadily since the Spaniards planted the first vines in the 16th century. Today, Chile has a lot of wine to offer its guests. He enjoys a wide variety of red wines, white dry wines, sweet wines, and just about any type of wine you can imagine for just about any type of start first with the geography Chile food.Let. Chile is a country geographically isolated. If even after looking at a map of the country long, thin leaves you shaking your head, let me explain. Chile is surrounded by geographic barriers. The Atacama Desert is in the north, the south is Antarctica, large, seemingly impenetrable Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean east to west. This has enabled Chile to keep pests and pest free. Chile has not experienced one of the scourges that have affected the European harvest or California. Precisely for this reason that you see when you go into this funny-shaped country that customs regulations are very strict and well enforced.Speaking a funny shaped country, most of the country is dotted with vineyards . There are 14 wine growing valleys to be precise. All valleys are famous for different varieties of wine. One of the most famous is the Maipo (and largest) valley located a short drive from the capital Santiago surprisingly sophisticated. It is located in the valley you can find wineries that belong to certain businesses, internationally recognized wines more like Chile Concha y Toro, Cousino Macul, and Undurraga. However, simply having a recognizable label is not the only sign that you stand a good bottle of wine. Chile has many new vineyards bloom every year and they all have something to offer.Moving along fine wines, it is not difficult to find good wine in Chile. In fact, Chile is one country where it is easier to find a good value for the value of your favorite wine. A good bottle of cabernet sauvignon will cost about $ 10. This is much less than the average French wine. Imagine how much more steak, you can buy with these types of savings. Oh, and did I mention that Chile is also known for its steak? Now, what should you do when your host pours a glass of wine? As with any meal of Chile, most guests do not take a bite of food until everyone at the table. It’s the same with wine. Once your host has sniffed, stirred, and drank their wine, then you can do the same thing. During a lunch break in a typical family, it is not unusual to drink a whole bottle of wine or more. This can make the typical foreign feel a tad light-headed if you do not want them to fill your glass, the best thing to do is to drink slowly and, if asked, say you’re sure enjoying it. Of if you really want to experience Chilean wine, the best thing you can do is come to Chile to see for yourself the picturesque vineyards nestled in the Andes or along the coast, the smell of rich bouquet of red wines and taste the sweetness of white. The next best thing would be to buy a bottle for dinner tonight, but if you prefer to be the trendsetter in your group, we recommend one of our visits. Come see everything that Chile has to offer. We guarantee that you will not regret it.
